What is Evening Recess?
It’s like recess - every week, collective art experiences, new projects every time.
We give people permission to break, play, and experiment, with the goal of connecting us.
Think of the energy of a jazz night and the chaotic fun of a trivia night at your local bar.
Our art activities are experience-driven, centered on collective play & connection.
What to Expect:
drop in & say hi & make something together
Work with others on one big collaborative art pieces - future nights will include:
Build Your Dream Apartment (each table makes a room)
Rewrite the Headlines (turn old headlines into new ones)
Heaven & Hell Collage Night (design gods, devils, and everything in between)
Ultimately, we pull it all together, step back, and admire everything we’ve made.

Core Mission
It’s ironic - Gen Z is the most connected generation ever, yet we are more lonely and spiritually agnostic than ever.
At Evening Recess, we respond to this crisis by offering a spiritual space rooted in joy, wonder, and play through art.
“Third space” has become a Gen Z buzzword, often reduced to aesthetically pleasing rooms and candle-lit dinners.
But filling a room isn’t the same as engaging it.
My theory is that when people seek a third space, they are actually seeking spiritual connection—our third body (as I call it): the spiritual self—beyond our (first body) physical and (second body) mental selves.
Okay, but what does that even mean? How does one create space for one's spiritual self?
It seems like a lofty abstract goal. It is, and there’s no single solution for it.
But we can take a step towards discovering it through play, joy, and art.
Collective art experiences allow us to spark curiosity and help people connect more deeply with one another at their own pace. Evening Recess offers that opening.
It’s a pool: you can dip your toes or dive deep. Either way, it’s a chance to recharge—and maybe rediscover things together as one group.
